Hi everyone!
Today I want to tell you the story of how a little ladybug became the muse for my brand logo.
It was the summer of 2023, in one of the first markets in Bonassola, a corner of paradise near La Spezia. The air was filled with excitement for the start of the market season, a time I love. And it is right there, among the colors of my embroidery threads, that I had a beautiful encounter: I noticed a ladybug among the colors of my embroidery threads:
For the entire duration of the market, three intense days, this little winged friend remained close to me, hiding among the materials and being found in ever new corners. I immediately noticed something particular about her: a slightly protruding wing, a distinctive sign that made her unique! I immediately fell in love with it, so much so that I decided to take it home with me if it had still been there at the end of the market.
However, the ladybug, unfortunately, had disappeared before I could notice. So in due time, I dismantled the counter and, having loaded the last box into the car, we were ready to go home, with the beautiful memory of our "mascot".
The biggest surprise, however, was finding it in the car, on the handle of a bag, halfway through the return journey. It was undoubtedly her, recognizable by her protruding wing! I was really happy that she was back and immediately started to find out how I could take care of her.
Once we returned home, I created a small habitat for her among the plants on my windowsill, where she could live peacefully. Every day I collected fresh flowers and leaves to put in a small bowl, which she could use as a refuge to hide or rest between the cracks created by the leaves. Obviously I had also given her a name: Lady B. Finding her every morning was a unique emotion and made me start the day on the right foot!
After a full week, Lady B decided it was time to go, leaving me with a beautiful memory. It was this meeting that inspired me to create a logo for my brand that depicted her. And here is the result:
In fact, if you notice, the ladybug in my logo also has a protruding wing, like Lady B.'s, because this makes it a special, recognizable ladybug! And, equally, I want my embroidery and artwork to be unique, special and recognisable!
Thank you Lady B. for choosing me and for the inspiration you gave me!
What do you think of this story and the resulting logo?
